Meeting minutes

Meeting minutes

Hi everyone!

Thanks a lot for showing up yesterday, it was super fun and interesting.

For those who couldn't make it, there were six of us and we all just took
turns showing stuff on the projector and asking each other questions. It
worked really well. Don't think I've ever been in a room with so many Emacs
enthusiasts at the same time :)

I took some notes and added them to the site. I didn't do a stellar job
though, they're very sparse and incomplete, so feel free to add some of the
stuff I've missed. If you want access to the Github repo just ask.

Andy also started the #emacs-berlin channel on Freenode IRC, so you can
hang out there as well.

With that first meeting past us we should talk about where to go from here.
Do we go for a monthly meetup? Should we get on meetup.com? What do you all
think?

Cheers,
Arne

Regarding a date, it was suggested last night to pick the same date next
month. However it looks like we coincide with vimberlin, which I don't
think is a good thing. In fact I hope to see some cross-contamination
between the two groups.

I really would love to learn a little bit of emacs and vote for a different
date. One that does not collide with the vim usergroup (because I am a vim
user ;) )

OK, what about the wednesday before the vim berlin meetup then, April
23rd? Wednesdays seem to be less frequented by tech meetings in
general, according to http://hacken.in/berlin (which is awesome btw).

(I had problems sending to the list before, so if this mail appears
after a long delay (actually it was sent on March 29th), then the
problems persisted)

I just added a small statistics page in our redesign branch. The site is
currently a bit broken because it's a work in progress, but you can see the
weekday stats here:

(Til, looks like your mail problem is solved ;) )

Cool statistics. According to that, mondays would be even better.

Thanks, good to know.
