XUL, Firefox, conkeror - future?

XUL, Firefox, conkeror - future?

As I understand it, Firefox is going to soon be moving away from using
XUL, and starting with 41, XULrunner will no longer be automatically
built and is not really going to be supported (i.e. may cease to build
properly).

How does all of this affect conkeror? I've been running conkeror via
firefox --app - will this still work?

(conkeror does indeed work with Palemoon - though not quite as well as
with firefox)

--app is expected to still work for the medium/long-term until Firefox
moves away from XUL which is the direction they've talked about going but
is not on the same time-frame as their removal of XUL extensions.
