More and more sites are "eating" keys

More and more sites are "eating" keys

Hi,

I have been using Conkeror for years with

   exec firefox -app ~/bin/conkeror/application.ini -P conkeror "$@"

and experienced this problem only occasionally on Facebook with "l"
key. Recently it became ubiquitous with other sites as well.

Pages are "eating" single keys and do their stuff: "l" and "g" don't
work on Github, google.com is now eating all the simple keys and pulling
me into the search bar.

How do people deal with this problem?

  Thanks,

    Vitalie

This is Ubuntu 13.10 with most recent conkeror git head.

If you use a version of XULRunner prior to 26, you can lessen the problem
with key-kill-mode.

No solution for later versions?
