a set of pages that do not display correctly?

a set of pages that do not display correctly?

Dear All,

I came across this page

http://timotheepoisot.fr/2014/07/25/sir-abc/

(and others from the same blog)

that does not display correctly.Most of the text (except the blog comments)
is gone, and we only see the code. The home page

http://timotheepoisot.fr/

does not show anything at all.

I am using v. 1.0~~pre-1+git140616-1 from Debian.

For what is worth, I also tried with Firefox (v. 17.0) and it did not work
either. Neither did it display correctly with uzbl, epiphany, xombrero,
qupzilla, rekonq, or konqueror. Only Google Chrome was able to display it.

I understand there might be issues with the page itself, but the systematic
failure of all those browsers and not seeing comments about problems in the
blog entries, is making me wonder if there is something wrong with my setup
(conkeror was run without my .conkerorrc file, so that is not it).

Best,

R.

I don't think there's an issue with your setup, because the same thing
happens when I try it. It definitely looks like a problem with that
specific site. For what it's worth, the first link displays text in
Firefox with NoScript enabled. So the problem might be related to the js
used. You should inform the website maintainer, maybe nobody has
commented on it yet because it's a recent issue.

Thanks for confirming the problem. I've reported it to the author.

Hello,
I've got no probem with the sites mentioned,
they open fast, text is normal, figures and codeblocks are normal.

Using version: conkeror 1.0pre1 (Xulrunner 31.0, Linux)

I only got the pdf-viewer as addon and got the following block in
.conkerorrc regarding content handlers:

content_handlers.set("text",content_handler_open_default_viewer);
view_source_use_external_editor = true;
external_content_handlers =
    {
        "*": getenv("EDITOR"),
        text: { "*": getenv("EDITOR") },
        image: { "*": "" },
        video: { "*": "mplayer" },
        audio: { "*": "mplayer" },
        // application:
{
        //     pdf:
"xpdf",
        //     postscript:
"xpdf"
        //
};
    };

Hi Dieter,

Thanks. Humm... this is interesting, because Joren and I both seem to
experience problems (I do in two different machines), but you don't. And
the author of the page doesn't.

Best,

R.

There is no problems with http://timotheepoisot.fr/2014/07/25/sir-abc/
http://i.imgur.com/RJ2CJI0.png and any other sub-pages.

Related info:
XULRunner 32
Latest conkeror.
~3.17.0-1-ARCH x86_64

I’m not sure why Chrome can render it correctly in your case.
It can be anything from video-drivers bug to missing libs
or maybe the problem is with MathJax.js.
Keep in mind that latest Chrome uses Blink as rendering engine,
which is a different solution than rest of your browsers.

Cheers,
Rafał.

Thanks Rafał. It definitely seems there was something wrong with my
setup. I have updated libjs-mathjax and fonts-jsmath, and installed jsmath,
jsmath-fonts and libjs-asciimathml (I am running Debian) and things all
work now. I suspect the problem was one (or more) of the last three were
missing.
