Ratpoison

Anyone know how to get Conkeror to run under the Ratpoison tiling
window manage? Depending whether I use the bundled script or my own
(simple xulrunner invocation) at least one of the following problems
occurs: my rc doesn't run, my session buffer list doesn't load, and
the frame either accepts no keyboard input or none with modifier keys.

By contrast, Firefox runs more-or-less acceptably and as expected,
just a few issues with focus on extensions putting up dialogs.

Why do you believe that this problem has to do with ratpoison?

It more likely has to do with the version of xulrunner or firefox with
which you are launching conkeror. Try others.

My thinking was: because at least some of the symptoms have to do with
focus, which is a known problem area with some apps under ratpoison.
Now that you mention it, I guess that's by no means conclusive.

I'm using xulrunner-26.0 or iceweasel 24.2 to launch conkeror. As I
say, iceweasel standalone (same one) runs more or less fine. I'll
double-check both, listing precise symptoms, and try under some other
WM, applying similar rigor.

I've been running conkeror in ratpoison for well over a year now and it
has always worked as it should.

Don't really sound like problems that could be caused by a window
manager.

Does this happen on all websites? Because there have been some similar
problems lately on GitHub and Twitter [1].

That's encouraging to hear. An existence proof. Thanks.

Agreed.

Trouble is, with modifier keys going unrecognized, it's impossible to
use the normal commands to navigate. Guess I'll have to just try to
reach other sites using the mouse.
