Map Images

Back when BrowserQuest was initially released, I hacked the code some to output
a full size PNG of the BrowserQuest maps. These might be useful as a reference
point for anyone attempting to understand the size of the map, or
positioning of elements
therein.

There are 2 different scales, one for mobile and one for higher-resolution
screens (i.e. Tablet / Desktop).

[Scale 1: Mobile (2752x5024)]
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ycscb3dnaoksguv/browserquest_fullmap_scale1.png
(12.2 MB)
[Scale 2: Desktop (5504x10048)]
https://www.dropbox.com/s/irvsqkpnyyneb9s/browserquest_fullmap_scale2.png
(34.47 MB)

Yep, those are definitely nifty. :)

Hmmm, and pretty large image files. (!)

Should we mirror the files somewhere so you can
free up Dropbox space? (very easy to do)

I'd certainly appreciate being able to remove them from my dropbox.
I just wasn't sure the repository was the best place to put them.

Yeah, adding them to the repo would probably massively blow out how long every
git clone takes. Good idea to avoid that. :)

New primary location for the files:

  http://justinclift.fedorapeople.org/browserquest/browserquest_fullmap_scale1.png
  http://justinclift.fedorapeople.org/browserquest/browserquest_fullmap_scale2.png

(pretty stable server, should be good for a few years :>)

But, backup location in Japan (personal server) just in case:

  http://mirror.salasaga.org/browserquest/maps/browserquest_fullmap_scale1.png
  http://mirror.salasaga.org/browserquest/maps/browserquest_fullmap_scale2.png

(also pretty stable)

Added the maps links to the wiki too, for good measure.

All good, you can nuke the dropbox files now. :)

Regards and best wishes,

Justin Clift

Nice! Yea, git and large binary files is a big no-no.
