packaging for (arch)linux distro

Hello!

After short (few months) excursion to FreeBSD, I'm back to (Arch)linux and see
that Bento package is orphaned ar AUR
(https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=38611), but having experience with
Waf whose author does not like Waf to be packaged, I'd like to ask what is the
opinion of Bento's author in regard to packaging Bento for Linux distributions?

Sincerely,
Gour

I am fine with people packaging bento, but I think it is still a bit
early because some API may need to change before I declare the first
alpha of Bento. The file format may also change in backward
incompatible ways because of some mistakes I have made. To give a
timeframe, I would really like to be able to do so before pycon 2012.

cheers,

David

Thank you for response.

Considering that Bento was/is already packaged for Archlinux, I've adopted it
and will continue maintaining no matter what is the current state of it. :-)

One concern I have is that at the moment Bento is packaged to use python-2,
although Arch uses python-3 as default Python, so I'm curious what do you think
about packaging Bento for the (default) Python-3?

Sincerely,
Gour
